In darkness we begin
Where consciousness emerges
Rhythmic thudding greets our ears
Surrounded, wrapped tight
Completely calm and secure
Nothing to fear, no failures made
Waiting for life to begin

We've captured the stars
They guide us still
Through darkest hours
So bright they obscure
The heavens from view

She circles slowly
Around his light
With each passing
She transforms
Life emerges through
Each new Phase

Silent watchers gaze
Capturing glimpses of
Brilliants blues and
Vivid greens below
His white canopy

Spring

Death reaches out
From frozen ground
Newly melted snow
Reveals tilted husks
Puddles gather to speak
Of new life underneath
Raging winds trumpet
The coming of spring

Willow

Willow's laughter
And quiet sighs
Sing through a
Sunny spring day

Shading my thoughts
As I watch the clouds
Shapeshift along the sky

Timid glances
Follow hushed
Whispers
They know
Every sin
Every failure
The laughter
Open old
Wounds
Wish I
Could be
Stronger
Impervious
To these
Shallow musings

A Beginning

It all began with
Some smart ass
Comment spoken

With bickering
