Distracted

Distracted, fragmented
Walk on wooden legs
stifled breathing, exhale
Attempt to focus, thwarted
Grey, fuzzy sight
Buzzing thoughts

Snowblind

Each strand of sunlight
Refracted and bent through
Every crystalline structure
Blinding purity, so vast
When I step inside I cannot
See, when I close my eyes
There is only white light

Wishes

You follow me beneath a pastel sky
Our bare feet crashing through the dirt
We taste the honeysuckle air
Running for what seems forever
Then the sun dips below the mountains
We lie still, the grass pricking our skin
We watch the nightime sky an make
Our wishes for the future

I Remember When

I remember a time when
Everything was new
Imagination was not
Cluttered by things
Such as logic or rules
The darkness of
Disappointment
Was just a pinprick
Hope and light was
Everywhere and
Within everyone

Choices

It's the crushing weight
Which pins me to the floor
I just lay here, hopeless
Unsure where to begin
A myriad of options but
Not the wisdom to decide
So I lay here still, wondering

The Spark

It's there, just below
The surface, no one
Else can see it but me
The spark that ignites
When I'm close to you
When we kiss, that spark
Smolders between us

Primal

They come in the twilight hours
Shadowy fingers stretch across
Irrational fears emerge in the
Minds of children snug in their beds
Adults laugh off such things
Protected by their florescent lights
The busy modern life where fears
Are medicated into nonexistence
Modern man is not immune
Primal man is still within, that
Is where the fear lurks, waiting
